I use my Kitchen Aid stand mixer which I love. It’s a staple in my from scratch kitchen! However, if you don’t have a stand mixer an electric hand mixer or potato masher would work just fine!
First, get a large pot of water boiling on the stove.
Wash and peel your potatoes.
Next, cut the potatoes into small equal sized chunks.
Boil the potatoes until fork tender.
Drain potatoes and add them to a stand mixer or large bowl.
Start the mixer on low speed with the paddle attachment.
In a large skillet, add milk and butter to warm
Once the butter starts to melt add your pressed garlic.
Once the milk and butter mixture is warm add it to the potatoes along with the salt.
Next, add the whisk attachment and turn the mixer on low-medium speed and mix well
Turn the mixer off periodically to scrape the bottom of the potatoes up.
